The Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls (The Academy) is a world-class educational platform for girls which is aimed at nurturing a new generation of dynamic women leaders. This residential boarding school is situated in Meyerton, Gauteng Province with just over 300 students enrolled in Grades 8 -12. Grade 12. Students write the Independent Examination Board (I.E.B.) NSC Examination.

•To ensure that the resourcing and development of the Library Service are commensurate with the Academy’s outstanding academic
•To work in collaboration with all staff to lead a learning community by promoting lifelong learning and the inclusion of Information
Literacy across the Academy.
•To promote the love of reading and the use of information resources to maximise both the student's and staff's academic potential.
•Bachelor's Degree in Librarianship and/or Information Science or an equivalent Library qualification;
•Postgraduate Diploma in Education or an equivalent professional teaching qualification;
•3 - 5 years experience as a Librarian;
•Experience in working on various library/database software programmes;
•Proven experience in cataloguing and classification of library resources;
•Extensive knowledge of a relevant library system;
•Proven experience of working in a digital library is required.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

•B Hons in Librarianship and/or Information Science or Education;
•School library experience;
•At least 2 years of experience as a Teacher;
•SACE registration;
•Proven Follett experience.
